One day in the yard of the elephant there was a fight: on one side was the family of
frogs and on the other all the other animals.
When the elephant left its camp, a frog also stood out, pointing the finger at the elephant. Before he came to stoop for the fight, the elephant first despised this little bit of frog and laughed at the whole frog family.
The frog challenged him with the following words:
“You don’t inspire me with any fear! Come here, let’s fight!
When they therefore joined to fight, the frog asked the elephant to continue stooping, since he was too big. Better yet, put both of his knees on the ground so he can fight well.
Once the elephant had knelt down, the frog jumped up and sat on the elephant’s shoulders saying, “Great Elephant, you have fallen!”
The frog family began to shout in victory, chanting:
The elephant has fallen! The elephant has fallen! The frogs no longer heard the
demands of the other side with any ear, they just said: “the fight is over, your hero has lost the fight, and so we are stronger than you!”
These cries of victory of the frogs persist until today, hence the croaking of frogs and toads that we hear every day!
The strategy easily overcomes an adversary larger than itself.
This is why we hear the croaking of frogs in the water until today.
